Pine Ridge Treatment Centers, Inc. was established in 1986 by Walter Giles for the treatment of chemical dependency (alcohol and drugs). In 1988, we were organized by UFCW Local 1167 in Bloomington, California. For the past 18 years, Pine Ridge has enjoyed a very positive relationship providing services for members of organized labor. We are nationally recognized and certified as a union facility. We have an understanding and, therefore, take a special interest in the problems of our union affiliated patients and their families. In a letter dated September 1998 from Mr. Robert A. Scardelletti, then International President of the Transportation Communications Union, addressed to Mr. Robert D. Krebs, Chairman, President & CEO, Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad, and Mr. L. L. Boxterman, VP Labor Relations, Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad, Mr. Scardelletti stated, “Pine Ridge is a 100% union facility. There is a kinship among union members which I believe would be an asset in the treatment of drug and alcohol dependency. That kinship would be the first step toward trust between patient and staff, which is such an integral part of treatment.” |

Mr. Dale E. Doyle, General Chairman, International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, St. Paul, Minnesota, in a letter to Burlington Northern Santa Fe expressed his support for the use of a union organization, namely Pine Ridge. Pine Ridge Treatment Centers, Inc. provides treatment for chemical dependency and addiction for the western United States. Pine Ridge is contracted with most insurance, managed care and union trusts. We provide four levels of Modified Medical Residential Treatment, Outpatient Treatment, Continuing Care and corresponding family awareness sessions. We also provide educational services that meet DOT and SAP requirements. Pine Ridge provides transportation from local airports. In some cases, we may also provide air, rail and bus transportation for patients in the western United States. |
